Discussion Questions:

Read Matthew 6:33. What does Jesus call his people to seek? What do you think that it looks like to do that?

What relationship if any does the command in Matthew 6:33 have to do with the one in Matthew 28:19-20?

Are Christians sometimes tempted to make other things a priority over disciple making? In what ways?

Read Mark 14:12-26 as a group.

Why was it important that Christ celebrate the Passover with his disciples before his death?

In what way does the Last Supper repurpose the elements of the bread and the wine of the Passover meal?

In what way does the Lord’s Supper highlight God’s ongoing work in our world?

What connection does the Lord’s Supper have with a Christian’s call to make disciples?

Are there causes or agendas that you are tempted to let take priority over your mission to point others to Jesus Christ? How can you keep yourself centered on the mission to which God has called you?

Read 1 Peter 2:9-25. What does this passage tell you about how God wants you to live in his kingdom?
