Read Mark 15:16-32 as a group.

What was the shame that Christ endured as he went to the cross? Was it just or unjust?

How did the Roman soldiers mock Jesus? In what way were they unwittingly speaking the truth?

What did the chief priests and scribes say to mock Jesus in verses 31 and 32? In what way were they unwittingly speaking the truth?

What would have been the result if Christ chose to avoid the shame of the cross? How would that impact what he came to accomplish?What are some ways that Christians are being shamed in our day?

Read Hebrews 12:1-2. How is the way that Jesus endured the shame of the cross used as an encouragement for Christians to run with endurance?

How is Christ rewarded for the shame that he righteously endured? (See Hebrews 12:2; Philippians 2:6-11)

How should Christians regard shame and persecution that they endure for the sake of Christ? What insights does Jesus offer in Matthew 5:10-12?
