Discussion Guide

Read 1 Peter 1:18-21 again. What are “futile ways?” In what way are they futile?

Is it possible for Christians to wander back to those futile ways from time to time? How so? In what ways has this been challenging for you? Be as specific or as general as you like.

What does it mean to be ransomed? Why is important to know what we have been ransomed from?

Why do you think it is important to know that the ransom Christ paid was costly, imperishable, perfect, and planned?

Read verse 21 again. What is the reason that Peter gives for the ransom that Christ made for us?

What does it mean to have faith and hope in God? Why is that such an important part of our lives?
